On July 24th, according to Thai media reports, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), revealed that the promotional video "LABUBU's Adventures in Thailand," featuring the popular IP character LABUBU from Pop Mart, will soon be released on TAT's official WeChat public account, Weibo, Xiaohongshu, and other platforms, as well as in numerous major Chinese publications. A large number of promotional photos have already been released, showcasing LABUBU posing in front of iconic Bangkok landmarks such as the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, experiencing Thai cultural highlights like tuk-tuk rides, Thai cuisine cooking, and Muay Thai, and admiring the scenic views of the Chao Phraya River.
The TAT, in collaboration with Pop Mart and Qunar.com, invited LABUBU to Thailand from July 1st to 4th to film the tourism promotional video. This initiative is expected to boost the sale of approximately 20,000 travel packages on online travel agencies (OTAs), potentially attracting no less than 800,000 Chinese tourists to Thailand during upcoming holidays. Qunar.com has also launched LABUBU-themed Thailand travel packages for July and August. LABUBU's successful trip to Thailand has positively promoted Thai tourism and may usher in a peak period for the industry ahead of China's National Day Golden Week holiday.
Thapanee noted the overwhelming popularity of LABUBU's visit to Thailand, with Sudirawa Sudirawa, the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, personally greeting LABUBU at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The hashtag "#MinisterGreetsLABUBU" topped the trending topics on Weibo.
